Academic Program
The elementary grades focus on basic
skills: reading, writing, math, and verbal communication. The middle-school students focus
on literature, math, and science. A great deal of time is spent after school studying and
learning in small groups; participation in the study groups is optional for most students.
Distinctive Features
Holy Ghost offers a challenging academic
program as well as a well-rounded after-school program. In both, it offers a caring
environment for each person. Each child is known by the faculty, staff, and principal;
every parent takes an active part in our educational, social, and life-giving activities.
Catholic Community
Community is formed because every person
is recognized and appreciated as a person worthy of love and care. Parents willingly
donate their time in the classroom, to fund-raising projects, and to other school-related
activities.
Extra-Curricular Activities
Athletics is an integral part of our
after-school activities. Participation is encouraged in volleyball, basketball, softball,
baseball, and track. Music is offered to students on a bi-weekly basis. Music is both a
part of our school day and also an integral part of our after-school program. Every
student is encouraged to take an active part in our school choir and Christmas program.

Mission Statement
Our Lady of the Annunciation School exists
to provide a Christ-centered education that prepares the students to become productive
Christian citizens. Our school community integrates spirituality with the students
moral, intellectual, social, cultural, and physical development. This type of education
requires a parent-school partnership. The schools role is to aid the parents in
fulfilling their duty of properly educating their children by encouraging parent

Academic Program
Annunciation is committed to providing an
education program which is both challenging and comprehensive. The curriculum is designed
to promote achievement in academic excellence while allowing for growth in physical
well-being and creative artistic expression. Our students consistently outperform the
national average in comparable standardized tests. We were nominated for the Elementary
Recognition Program sponsored by the U.S. Department of Education.

Annunciation is, first and foremost, a
Catholic school, dedicated to providing a Christian environment. It is a caring Catholic
school where students learn to live and integrate their faith into daily living. Weekly
Masses teach the students participation in the liturgy. The faculty participates in
"Vision and Values" workshops and projects with the goal being
"community." Parental and parishioner involvement in the school community is
evidenced by the numerous activities, which require cooperation and working together to
spread the message of the Lord.
Extra-Curricular Activities
Electives for middle-school students take
place during the last period of the day and are a type of enrichment that is intended to
broaden the students interest. Offerings include yearbook, art, speech, drama,
computer science, math skills, creative writing, research papers, astronomy, algebra,
Junior Great books, and activities in the Parochial Athletic League.

Mission Statement
The teaching at OLA is done in a Catholic
atmosphere in accord with the mandate to "teach as Jesus did" in an environment
of love, care, and discipline. The administration and faculty continue the development
process begun in the home.
Philosophy
At OLA, the teaching is done in a Catholic
environment faithful to the teachings of Jesus Christ by providing love, care, respect,
and discipline. An essential element in this fidelity to Christs teachings is the
religious instructional program in the truths and values of the Catholic faith. The
sharing of responsibility with the parents for the Christian education of their children
also means that our school promotes the full development of all facets of the
students characterspiritual, intellectual, moral, emotional, physical,
cultural, and social.
Academic Program
Our core curriculum is made up of studies
in the humanities (including religious studies), math, and the sciences, which together
constitute a basic liberal-arts program. Our nationally recognized texts, supplemented and
enriched by the addition of art, music, health, physical education, and Spanish are taught
from K-8. Our program of homework and special projects has an additional unique feature:
semester comprehensive, week-long exams in January and May, covering core courses, art,
music, physical education, and Spanish for both elementary and middle-school grades. Our
teachers are strongly dedicated; we have one of the lowest staff turn-over rates in the
archdiocese.
Extra-Curricular Activities
OLA students participate in art and
social-studies fairs and in nationally sponsored events, such as the National Geography
Bee, science fair, spelling bee, Math-a-thon, Boy Scouts, and Girl Scouts. The students
also produce a number of talent shows, religious dramatic events, Christmas programs,
Spanish fiestas, and music and choir presentations.

Mission Statement
Our Lady of Fatima School holds as its
primary purpose the continuing formation of the Christian person. We live Gods Word

Guided by our mission, we labor to give

abilities. The aim of Our Lady of Fatima School is to prepare our students to become

Academic Program
Our Lady of Fatima offers classes for
grades K-8. All core subjects are taught: reading, writing, language, math, social
studies, science, and, most importantly, religion in every grade. Along with this strong
academic core curriculum, music, physical education, and computer literacy is presented
for all grades. Our students have computer classes in the areas of reading, writing, and
math. Our faculty is highly qualified and works together to promote scholastic excellence
for all students.

Middle-school students have elective
programs for band, chorus, as well as a variety of other classes. These classes are held
twice a week.

We offer a very strong athletic programs

The religion program is the central core

our assistance to St. Vincent de Paul, Catholic Social Services, and the Birthright Center
in Albuquerque.
Academic Identity
A strong academic tradition has been
established at Queen of Heaven School, which allows and encourages each student to reach
his or her potential. The reading and mathematics curriculum is expanded with science,
social studies, literature, Spanish, computer science, fine arts and writers
workshops. We maintain the Regina Coeli Chapter of the National Junior Honor Society. We
have strong representation in the Regional and State Science Fairs. Students participate
in the District Spelling Bee, St. Jude Math-a-thon, New Mexico art workshops, and
oratorical contest. Our seventh and eighth graders take part in the University of Nebraska
National Math examinations.
Physical Education
Our school stresses not only a strong mind
by also a healthy body. Our Athletic Director, P.E. instructors, and coaches help make
this possible. Year-round sports are offered in grades 5-8. Girls sports include
volleyball, basketball, softball, cross-country, and track. Boys sports include flag
football, basketball, baseball, and track. Families take part in the Run For The
Future, an annual Catholic school fund-raiser, and the Run For The Zoo.

Mission Statement
The primary goal of San Felipe de Neri
School is to teach students Christian values and to prepare them to practice moral values
coupled with excellence in education. Every effort is made to encourage them to achieve
their full potential by stimulating and enriching their spiritual, social, and academic

Academic Program
San Felipe offers classes for K-8 in a
liberal arts core curriculum that includes religion, language arts, math, science, music,
art, Spanish, computer technology, and physical education. Instruction is a mixture of
traditional, collaborative, and innovative methods. Our faculty are all state-licensed and
continue their education to keep current in new methods of teaching.
Catholic Community
Our school is situated in historic Old
Town. We proudly trace our cultural heritage to many of the founding families of Hispanic
origin that settled the original Albuquerque. The schools first public inspectors,
as recorded in 1872, had family names of Ambrose, Armijo, Cristobal, Perea, and Gutierrez.
Parental involvement at San Felipe is strong; over the years, our PTA has contributed
generously to the operation of the school, from purchasing capital equipment to
subsidizing school funding. Students participate in liturgies and are given many
opportunities to practice Catholic Christian values through charitable activities.

Students have many opportunities to
participate in activities, such as Student Council, volleyball, basketball, flag football,
newspaper, yearbook, Cub Scouts, science fair, and geography and spelling bees.

Mission Statement
The purpose of St. Charles Borromeo School
is to provide a thorough Catholic education in an atmosphere that enables children to grow
in a personal love of Jesus Christ through encounters with Him in the sacraments, in the
liturgy, and in others. Our school is guided by three main principles:
1. A learning environment that encourages
love, acceptance, trust, and respect for others.
2. A curriculum fashioned around the child of today who will become the adult of tomorrow.
3. The family as the most significant source of guidance in Catholic values.
Academic Program
The elementary students focus on religion,
math, language arts (reading, phonics, literature, oral and written compositions,
spelling, handwriting), science, social studies, physical education, music, art, and
computer literacy. The middle-school curriculum includes religion, math, literature,
English, social studies, American history (including New Mexico), physical education,
music, and art. State-mandated competencies are used to assist teachers in planning basic
skills that, students are expected to master at each grade level.
Catholic Community
Teachers plan Masses and special services
for their classes or grade levels (K-3, 4-5, 6-8) to celebrate special events, topics of
study, or seasonal events in the Church year. They also plan Mass for the entire school to
celebrate holy days and other occasions. Penance services are held during Advent and Lent;
the Rosary is featured during October, a May crowning of Our Lady occurs annually, and
Stations of the Cross are observed during Lent. Blessed Sacrament Fathers, Brothers, and
Sisters visit the school and share, in many ways, their devotion to our Lord in the
Eucharist.
Extra-Curricular Activities
In addition to offering all of the sports
of the Parochial Athletic League, St. Charles offers an intramural program. Student
Council, Scouting, 4-H, Chess Club, Computer Club, and Yearbook are currently offered as
after-school activities.

Home and School Association, which gives both a structure and a challenge for parents to
become involved in the school.

the Gospels is central to our purpose at St. Mary. Within the framework of our religion

The Faculty
Our teachers are graduates of outstanding
national and international universities who come from around the world and from
Albuquerque as alumni of St Pius. Two-thirds of the faculty hold a masters or
doctoral degree. Teachers at St. Pius take time to work individually with students.
Academic Program
St. Pius traditional emphasis on
college preparatory education has produced impressive results. Approximately 92% of our
graduates enroll in colleges and universities in New Mexico and across the nation. Our
Advance Placement program enables talented and highly motivated students to pursue a
college-level course of study and earn college credits while attending St. Pius. The
average student/teacher ratio is 23:1. During the more than 40 years of its existence, St.
Pius has come to be recognized as one of the outstanding educational institutions in the
State of New Mexico. At the current time, it is the only Catholic high school in
Albuquerque. The school is accredited by the North Central Association and the State of
New Mexico.

St. Pius strives to meet the spiritual
needs of its students. Through our campus ministry program we offer well-planned liturgies
